Tasmanian Alkaloids contracts its poppy crop annually throughout the main agricultural districts of Tasmania. The field officers are responsible for contracting the crop with potential growers and assisting growers to obtain a "Licence to Grow" from the Tasmanian Government. We have pride in the quality service that we provide to poppy growers and do all that we can to ensure that every crop achieves its potential.
Contracting generally commences around May each year, with most crops being sown from June through to September. Harvest usually starts in mid-January, and concludes in late February or early March.
